About this
oldest part of the family FUHRMANN, the parentsgeneration of Jacobus
the Elder and the progenitors of the line, we only know the description
from the coat of arms from abt. 1460.

in that time it was a free traderfamily, trading over the Baltic Sea. This we
can conclude to the Neptunus trident, standing in the heraldic for the sea.

Jacobus, so we think, has
not been the eldest son.
The eldest would have taken the familybusiness. But a later born son of a
prosperous family could go to school and university and was supported. And for
the family in that time it could not be bad to have connections to the church.

Here ends the history of our family.
We know about some more Fuhrmann name-bearers close to our line, but can not
make the connection, due to missing churchrecords or other documents.
There is a beerbrewery in Bad Polczien (today Plozyn Zdroj, Poland) founded in 1825 from Carl Fuhrmann. The closeness , the time, the profession and the christian-name makes it possible that this is a relative to us, but the possible birth of Carl is just inside the big gap of the Birnbaum churchrecords 1795 – 1812 and for Bad Polzien there are no churchrecords befor 1874 and the family there is extinguished.
The brewery is sold to a big concern now, but the Fuhrmann beere is brewed till today.
In 2004 we visited the brewery and we had a big Fuhrmann-beer in rememberance and honour to our ancestors.
