Descendants of the Bruchhausen-family

First Generation


1. Theis (Matthias) von BRUCHHAUSEN was born about 1550. He possibly came from Bruchhausen which was near  Weyer, Lahn in Hassia-Nassau, Germany.

Theis married Anna ...... NN before 1604 in Obernhof.

  He is noted in a taxlist of Obernhof from 1604 with his wife Anna and son Joh.Gerlach  
 as an inhabitant without house and land and without being a citizen. 

(This „von Bruchhausen“[from Bruchhausen] in this case is not a nobel-name but only the description of his place of origin, later the family used this placename for their surname. The village of Bruchhausen became a  deserted place  during the Plague-epidemic in 1607.

In area of the nearby village of Holzappel there was a big farm, owned by the noble family “von Stein” called
“Steinischer Hof von Bruchhausen”. The tenants of this farm where also a Bruchhausen-family tracing back in the churchrecords of  Holzappel till abt. 1640. This family was possibl
y also related to this Bruchhausen-line,
but
it has not been proven,  and this family is now extinct.)

 

 

They had children, the following child is proven:

+ 2 M i Johann Gerlach von BRUCHHAUSEN was born about 1580/1590 and died on 25 Feb 1660 or 1661.
