She died on 7 Oct 1935 in Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa. Wilhelmina immigrated in 1865 from Nassau to New Orleans.

MRS. BEHNE, 82 RESIDENT HERE 75 YEARS, DIES
Mrs. Minnie Brookhiser Behne, 82, native of Germany, but a resident of Burlington for 75 years, died at 8:15 p.m., Saturday at the home of her Daughter, Mrs. Charles Hartman, 231 Harrison Avenue, following a lingering illness.
She was born in Hessen, Germany Aug 4, 1857. She came to the United States and directly to Burlington in 1864. She was married in 1875 to William Behne.
Surviving are the daughter on Harrison Avenue; two sons, William 1428 S. Starr Avenue and John Behne, Cheyeane, Wyo; two brothers William Brookhiser of Burlington and A.P. Brookhiser of Galestone, Ill.; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Unterkircher's Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. W.A. samp, paster of Harrison Avenue Methodist.
Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

I August Behne, of Des Moines County, State of Iowa aged 54 years, do solemnly swear that I am acquainted with William Behne and Wilhelmine Bruckhauser who are arties for the Marriage of whom a License is applied for; that said William Behne is of the age of 19 years and upwards, of sound contracting mind and unmarried and that there is no legal impediment to said parties entering the marriage state, to the best of my knowledge, information and belief, and that I am not interested in the issue of said license, and I am the father of said William Behne and give my consent that license may issue. William Behne, of Madison Avenue, passed away yesterday morning after a long illiness. He was born in Germany forty-eight years ago, and came to this country with his parents when a child. His father is the well-known Madison Road farmer August Behne. He is survived by the widow and four children.

He died on 6 Dec 1946 in Mercy Hospital, Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa from Bronchial Pneumonia, Urinary Sepsis and was buried on 8 Dec 1946 in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Des Moines Co, Iowa. William immigrated in Feb 1866 to Nassau to New York.

In 1910 census this family is listed as living on Fort Madison Rd which is very close to or on the border of Lee County.

WILLIAM BROOKHISER
William John Brookhiser Sr. 887, 1106 N. 8th St., died in Mercy Hospital Friday after an extended illiness.
He was born in Germany July 27, 1859, the son of Frank and Catherine Brookhiser and came to this country 81 years ago. He had lived in Burlington for the past three years making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Lorenz Vahle. He was of the Lutheran faith. September 11, 1883 in Burlington he married Wilhemenia Dietz.
Five children survive Frank A, Marion, William Jr., Wever, Mrs. Fred Hartman, Burlington; Mrs. Grover Wilson, Morning Sun; Mrs. Lorenz Vahle, Burlington 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The body is at Prugh's chapel pending funeral arrangements

Mrs. Wilhelmina Henietta Brookhiser 1106 N. 8th St. died at 6 p.m. Thrusday after an extended illness. She was born in Nassau, Germany July 9, 1864 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dietz. She came to this country 63 years ago and had been a resident of Des Moines county since that time.
She was united in marriage to William Brookhiser on Sept 11, 1883. She was of the Lutheran Faith.
Surviving are her husband; 6 children, Frank A. Brookhiser of Cedar Rapids; William Brookhiser, Jr. of Wever; Mrs. Fred Hartman, Mrs. William Wilson, and Mrs. Florence Vahle of Burlington, Mrs. Grover Wilson of Yarmouth; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-greatgrandchild. Three children are dead.
Funeral services will be held in Prugh's chapel Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Dr. R.R. Belter will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

DEATH: Mrs. Brookhiser Dead After Long Illness at Age 67

Mrs. F. A. Brookhiser, 67, widely known in this community through
association with her husband for 17 years in the operation of Cedar Rapids
ballrooms, died at 5:20 p.m. Monday at her home, 398 Forest drive SE,after an
illness of two years.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Barta chapelwith the
Rev. Paul Luther Miller, pastor of the First Lutheran church, officiating.
Pallbearers will be E. L. Morgan, H. V. Morgan, Henry Peters, J. Gregory,C. H.
Chapman and Charles Heaton. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in thefamily lot
in Memorial cemetery, Burlington.
Surviving are her husband; two sisters, Mrs. H. M. DeMuth,Charleston, W.
Va., and Mrs. H. A. Nelson, University City, Mo., and a niece, Lois JaneNelson,
University City, Mo.
Born Nov. 22, 1876, at Burlington, she was married to F. A.Brookhiser
Nov. 19, 1911, in St. Louis. They moved to Cedar Rapids from Burlingtonin 1923
to open the Dreamland ballroom. Later they owned and operated Dancelandfor 13
years until its sale three years ago. While actively associated with her
husband in operating the ballrooms, Mrs. Brookhiser made many friendsamong the
young people of Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area.
A member of St. Paul's Methodist church, she belonged to itsPhilathea
class. She was also a member of Cedar chapter of the Order of EasternStar.

Mrs. F.A. Brookhiser, former resident of Burlington, died at 6 p.m. Monday at her home in Cedar Rapids following a two year illiness.
Born Anna Petterson, in St. Louis, Mrs. Brookhiser is survived by her husband, Fred Brookhiser, at one time manager of the Military Ballroom here and two sisters, Mrs. G. Nelson, of St. Louis, and Ella Edmuth, residing in West Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held in Cedar Rapids Thrusday, the cortege arriving here 2 p.m. for interment in Memorial cemetery where brief rites will be held at the grave.

MRS. ROGERS IS DEAD
Young Women Passed Away At Early Age of Twenty-Six Years
Ill Only Short Time

Mrs. Louisa Wilhelmina Rogers, wife of Harry Rogers, passed away August 26, at home of her husband's parents, fourteen miles south of Burlington in Green Bay Bottoms, at the age of twenty-six years and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Brookhiser.
She spent almost all of her life near this city and made many friends and acquaintances who join her relatives in morning her departure. On account of her fine disposition and numerous good characteristics she was liked by all who knew her.
She married two years ago to Harry Rodgers, removing then to Green Bay Bottoms, south of Burlington. At the time of her death Mrs. Rodger had not been seriously ill for a long time and to the vast majority of her friends it was unexpected.
Besides her husband the following relatives survive: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brookhiser, her parents, four sister and two brother. These are Mrs. Fred Hartman, of Burlington, Miss Mathilda Brookhiser of Burlington, Miss Ester and Florence at home, Frank and William Brookhiser, both of Burlington.
Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. today at the Rodgers home in Green Bay Bottoms, and at 3 p.m. at the home of Mr. Wm. Brookhiser on the Madison Road south of town. Interment will be made in Krekel Cemetery. Rev. Karl Schelb, pastor of St. Luces Church will officiate.

1880 census lists as a male yet 1870 lists as female. His marriage certificate lists his mother as Catherine Dieds. In his mothers obit he is listed as Emil yet his marriage cert seems to say Asneal or Arneal. (Ameal = Engl. soundtranslation of the German " Emil")
